Florence, Italy, March 28^th-29^th 2008.

The 3^rd International Congress of the CAI Academy took place in Florence on the 28^th -29^thMarch. The most important experts in the field of Computer Aided oral Implantology gathered in Italy to showcase the most recent advantages in this exciting field. The elections for the new Board of Directors were held on Friday and the following candidates were unanimously appointed: Scott Ganz (President), Thomas Fortin (Vice President), Sandro Fabbro (President Elect), Roberto Marra (General Secretary) and Alessandro Ceccherini (Treasurer).

Guido Schiroli (Genoa-Italy) made his departure after his two-year term as President of CAI Academy.

The 4^th General Assembly of Active Members of CAI Academy took place on Friday the 28^th March 2008.

Chantal Malevez (Belgium) gave an impressive lecture on guided zygoma surgery.	President Elect of CAI Academy Sandro Fabbro (Italy) has set up the first University 1-year course to specifically teach the techniques involved in Computer-assisted Oral Implant Surgery (Padova University, Italy)

11^th International Workshop of CAI Academy in Istanbul has been held Saturday and Sunday November 17^th -18^th 2007.

11^thInternational Workshop in Turkey: Prof. Aslan Gokbuget and Prof. Cetin Sevuk (CAI Academy Active Members) were the chairmen of the scientific activities: participation was free of charge for members, as usual.

6^th Workshop of CAI Academy has been held Saturday December 2^nd2006 in Bologna, Italy. Various platforms were presented and compared giving the participants an opportunity to acquire the necessary information to guide them in their choice of methods. Dr. Christian Berger was chairman at the 6^th CAI Academy workshop. Dr. Berger is the President of the European Association of Dental Implantologists, www.bdizedi.org ; today the BDIZ EDI counts more than 4.500 members in an increasing number of european countries.

Osaka, Japan, June 28^th - July 1^st 2006

20^th International Congress and Exhibition of CARS - Computer Assisted Radiology & Surgery. What about the Electronic Bone Mapping of the Tactile Technologies? We will ask to dr. K.A. Schicho, dr. R. Ewers, dr. A. Wagner and dr. R. Seemann, Medical University of Vienna, Austria. They will present in Osaka an innovation in Computer Assisted Dental Implantology: Tactile Sensor Technology. Dr. F. Valente, dr. A. Sbrenna and prof. C. Buoni will present in Osaka the first CAI Academy 's prospective clinical study focusing Minimally Invasive Implant Surgery (MIIS) combined with Computer Aided Implant Surgery (CAIS) in complex multi-implant cases. Sarment, Diplomate American Board of Periodontology, Associate Professor Department of Periodontics, Prevention, Geriatrics, University of Michigan, School of Dentistry, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA and Philippe B. Tardieu, Adjunct Associate Professor at the New York University, Division of Reconstructive Comprehensive Care; Philippe B. Tardieu is the co-inventor with Dr. Vrielinck of the SAFE System^TM and he is the inventor of the Immediate Smile^TM procedure and components. He is in charge of a Post Graduate Implantology course at the University of Strasbourg, France.

Prof. Daniel van Steenberghe was awarded the CAI Academy Honorary Membership for the outstanding scientific contribution in the field of Computer Guided Implantology; prof. Daniel van Steenberghe, Chair of the Department of Periodontology at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, teaching Periodontal Therapy, Human Anatomy, Medical Ethics is the Holder of the Prof. P-I Brånemark Chair in Osseointegration and President of the Council of the EAO; he was the prominent speaker at the 1^st International CAI Academy Congress in Rome, Italy. We welcome the new CAI Academy Active Member Scott D. Ganz, DMD, Implantologist and Maxillofacial Prosthetist, Fort Lee, New Jersey, USA; he is on the staff of Hackensack University Medical Center, teaching Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry; he is on the faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
